Kids Beating Cancer (KBC), originally known as the John Voight Memorial Foundation, Inc., was named after a nine year old boy who passed away after battling AML and MDS. Today, KBC remains dedicated to raising funds and providing resources to children who have been diagnosed with cancer, leukemia, or related life-threatening conditions.
“While we would love to stop diseases, we know at this point that resources are what is needed and we want to share our love and support,” says Rich Howes, founder and director of Howes Insurance Agency.
To organize local support and share information about the ongoing efforts of KBC, Howes and his team have established a resource sharing system that incorporates both social media and email platforms. The charity event benefitting KBC is only the first of many planned by Howes Insurance for the near future. As new regional affiliates of the “Agents of Change” nationwide charity assistance group, the firm will be selecting and working to support a series of other Orlando based charities and nonprofits at the rate of one every other month.
